Apr 13-14, 2016 GSH-SEG Spring Symposium - Interpretation Technology: Inspiring Innovation, Advancing Discoveries*

2016 GSH - SEG Spring Symposium & Exhibition

What are the challenges of seismic interpretation today? Correctly interpreting broadband seismic data? Distinguishing real seismic reflectors from multiples? Recognizing false AVO anomalies produced by incorrect processing? Determining what anisotropy vectors tell you and how they affect production? Keeping up with the plethora of new attributes and what they mean? Integrating seismic inversions, microseismic, or converted wave data?

The 2016 GSH Spring Symposium attempts to answer these questions and more by honoring Alistair Brown, the godfather of 3D seismic interpretation. Alistair will chair the first session that explores where we started in the 1980’s and the advancements that have enabled us to get to the point we are at now. From there we explore seismic interpretation, quantitative interpretation, and leading edge seismic techniques.

This symposium is geared towards all geologists and geophysicists whether they are new to the industry or in advanced stages of their career. The aim is to educate all in the basic and advanced techniques used in seismic interpretation. In the current state of the industry, it is all of our responsibilities to stay as sharp and up-to-date as possible so we can make an immediate impact no matter where we are working.
