Speaker: Eduardo Alvarez, Intel

Fossil exploration is a key component of paleontology and helps us better understand the rich history of life on our planet. In this workshop, we will provide an intro-level walkthrough of a case study in Utah's Dinosaur National Monument Fossil Bone Quarry. We will use a labeled aerial photography dataset to train a model for fossil detection and then predict the likelihood of dinosaur fossils from google earth images. As part of this exercise, you will also receive training on utilizing intel's oneAPI AI Analytics Toolkit to perform accelerated training and inference. The entire workshop will take place on intel's free DevCloud jupyter lab notebook environment. Let out your inner Jurassic Park fan and join us for an afternoon of Dino Hunting!
