Attention!!!  WIN a Full Registration to the SEG Annual Meeting in Houston 24-29-September-2017

We are starting a raffle for a Full Registration for the upcoming SEG Annual meeting in Houston. To enter the raffle, you must visit the Geoscience Center and make a minimum donation of $5.00 for a ticket for the raffle.

Kick-Off for the Raffle will be at the quarterly Doodlebugger event "Living Legends Social" this Thursday, May 11th. Visit with colleagues and old friends and listen to tales of the oil patch.

Ticket Sales End, September 13th at noon. Full details will be posted at the Geoscience Center.

The GSH is a 501 ( C ) 3 organization.  Donations can be sent to the GSH office at 14811 St. Mary’s Lane, Suite 204, Houston, TX, 77079, with a note that the donation is for the Geoscience Center Challenge.

The GSH has established a Geoscience Center and Museum in West Houston. This facility is used to store, maintain, and refurbish geophysical artifacts in the museum collection that are not presently on display at other locations. Additionally, the Center holds workshops for teachers and includes resources to create interactive displays, hands-on activities, and educational materials for school career days, classroom presentations, scouting fairs, science fairs, or other opportunities for interaction with students.

The Geoscience Center maintains a sponsor wall to recognize our supporters. Monetary contributions are gratefully appreciated and may be general or tailored to an installation at a particular institution. Museum

The Museum accepts artifacts, photos and other items which document the rich history of the geophysical profession and related industries.  All items are catalogued and preserved.  Temporary and permanent displays are prepared and installed at the Geoscience Center and at various educational institutions and company offices in Texas and beyond.

The museum also includes the Bob Sheriff Library, with a collection of over 900 books, manuals, and periodicals.  Library items are available for check out or use at the Geoscience Center.  There are duplicates of some items that may be kept for extended use.

Living Legends Social Gathering:

Retired doodlebuggers and their spouses are invited.  Visit with colleagues and old friends.  A new exhibit or project may be set up for preview, and a few artifacts will probably need help with identification. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be available. For more information click here
