Word From the Board - September 2016
Amy Rhodes - GSH President
When I chose to run for president of the Geophysical Society of Houston, I had one overarching theme in mind. I was hopeful that I could help expand the demographic of our membership to include more geophysicists of every age, race, ethnicity, and preference. We want to continue to build a community that is inclusive of everyone. I am proud to say that we are off to a great start with the success of our Inaugural GSH Diversity and Women’s Networking Event that was held in May. The event sold out and we saw many new faces. Please take a look at the article on the event later in this copy of the journal for more details.
