Speaker: Joseph Farah, Schlumberger

Permitting for a 3D multi-client seismic survey is time consuming, expensive and full of challenges.  In places like Texas, where most of the land is privately owned and the minerals rights are leased out, we rely on the cooperation of many individuals and companies to obtain the desired data.  In this presentation, we will discuss the permitting process and all of the work that goes into securing the rights to acquire, show and sell seismic data before the first geophone can be planted in the ground.

Speaker Biography: Joseph Farah, Schlumberger
Joseph studied Geography at the State University of New York where he received his B.A. in 2001.  He began his career in the Oil & Gas industry in 2005 with Vector Seismic Data Processing Inc. – Denver office.  There he was mainly involved with front-end processing of seismic data, with a focus on refractions solutions.  Joseph transferred to Houston in January of 2016 after VSDP was acquired by Schlumberger and accepted a position in the N.A. Land Multi-client Projects department.  Current responsibilities include GIS mapping, data management and delivery, sales support and new ventures.
