Title: Does it pay to Innovate
Speaker: Niven Shumaker, Noble Energy

Biography:  Niven Shumaker’s current role is Sr. Finance Advisor for the East Med Region where he is working to monetize giant gas discoveries in Cyprus and Israel. While at Noble Energy, he has worked various positions as a geoscientist supporting business innovation, global drilling, exploration, and development projects. Niven actively contributes to professional societies through workshop presentations, journal peer-review, and authoring technical articles, and he instructs industry short-courses on petroleum systems and innovation. Niven studied geophysics at UC Santa Barbara and Virginia Tech, geotechnical engineering at the University of Iceland, and holds an MBA from Rice University where he was awarded the Jones Scholar Award for finishing in the top of his class.
 
 
Title: Who will curate the data, train the software, and QC the results?
Speaker:  Thomas Cullison, Nvidia
Biography:
  Thomas Cullison is a geophysicist and computer scientist working as a Solutions Architect at NVIDIA. Before joining NVIDA, he worked in the Technology & Excellence group at Hess Corporation developing HPC applications for seismic imaging and seismic data processing algorithms. Thomas attended the Colorado School of Mines as both an undergraduate and a graduate. As an undergrad, he double majored in geophysical engineering and computer science, he finished a MS in mathematical and computer science. He is also a former student of the Center for Wave Phenomena
